DIGITAL PRODUCT & UI/UX DESIGN
I completed UI/UX Design concepts and analysis's for a simple Mood Tracking App to pitch to in an interview test.

Overview
In January 2022, I was asked to complete a product design test for a mental health app development startup as part of a job application. The brief included to presenting initial UI/UX designs for a simple mood tracking app intended to soft sell the a parent app while looking at the competitive space. The brief was broad and the delivery was to pitch this exploration Mood Tracking product to stakeholders.

Competitive Analysis
To get an insight into the competitive space, I looked at the two successful mood tracking apps, Daylio and Moodfit, which have different approaches to tracking. I critically reviewed the UX structure, interesting features and UI design.

Moodfit showcases excellent usage of statistical tracking and gives a wide range of options to make inputs but lacks an elegant, user friendly interface. Additionally, the app offers helpful exercises, great customisations and inspirational quotes.

Daylio certainly has the interface perfected and has a narrower user scope by having no exercises and simplified statistics. Additionally, the app offers an achievement feature and option to add photos to daily inputs.

Alternative Mood Input
Unlike just 5 choices from bad to good, there can be more options to better cater the the user's different mental states throughout a day. Additionally, the user can add their own in case they relate more to a specific word. And they can choose multiple options for one entry since a person's mood is rarely consistent throughout the day.
Contacts
User can add a number of telephone numbers in the app in case they are in distress and need to talk to a loved one. Additionally, the app can contain emergency numbers to helplines.
Happy Reminders
User can link the app to their social media accounts and save their favourite cheery, inspirational or calming videos or images in the app. Or alternatively, the user can upload from their device. Whenever user is feeling down and selects a negative mood in the mood tracker, the app asks user whether they would like to see a happy moment. Additionally, the videos could be divided into groups like “make me laugh” or “give me perspective” which the user can choose between.
